Course Overview: (Class & Live Fire)

This 3 hour course is a response to the American public’s desire for a rifle orientation course designed for new purchasers and untrained rifle owners. This program is ideal for the new shooter and uses the Total Participant Involvement (TPI) training methodology.  It stresses active training and learning by doing. The course will provide shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and use a specific rifle model safely. Students will learn rifle safety rules, parts, and operation. The five fundamentals of rifle shooting aiming, breath control, hold control, trigger control and follow-through, how to determine their dominant eye, rifle shooting from the bench rest position, cartridge malfunctions, range safety and shooting facility orientation. Rifle cleaning, storage and training opportunities.

FIREARMS: LEAVE IN YOUR CAR until the INSTRUCTOR asks you to bring them into the classroom. Firearm MUST be in a hard or soft case or range bag.

BRING: the owner’s manual if you're unfamiliar with the operation or disassembly of your firearm. When making your reservation tell us the make, model and caliber of your firearm. Bring one box of ammo (50 cartridges) for live fire.

NOTE: NO AMMUNITION IN THE CLASSROOM. Leave it in your car.

RENTAL: Don't own a firearm, hearing or eye protection? We can rent you ours. Just let us know when scheduling training. If you have your own hearing and eye protection, bring them.
