Course Overview: (Class & Live Fire)

If you are interested in becoming proficient with your AR-15 platform, the Level-2 AR/M-16 Rifle course is the first step in learning the capabilities of the carbine as defensive tool. Use this class as an opportunity to learn something new or to enhance what you already know.

Level-2 AR/M-16/ Rifle focuses on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. The goal of the course is to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to defend your home or compete with a rifle ethically, responsibly, and with confidence. For safety reasons, TW's Trigger Techniques can only offer this course to those who have mastered and can demonstrate the basic fundamentals of marksmanship with a rifle, because those principles will be needed to successfully negotiate this course. Training will include: Firearm Safety Rules, Load and Unloading, Clearing Common Malfunctions, Ready Positions, Understanding Ballistics and Proper Ammunition Selection, Use of Optics, Red Dots, Zeroing, Reading Your Target, Carry Methods and Use of a Sling, Supported Shooting Position of Kneeling, Squatting, Sitting, Prone and Standing, Gun Locks, Preventive Maintenance, Live Fire Drills, Cover and Concealment,  Levels of Mental Awareness, Developing the Proper Mindset for Personal Protection, and Understanding the Art of Competitions.

FIREARMS: LEAVE IN YOUR CAR until the INSTRUCTOR asks you to bring them into the classroom. Firearm MUST be in a hard or soft case or range bag.

BRING: the owner’s manual if you're unfamiliar with the operation or disassembly of your firearm. When making your reservation tell us the make, model and caliber of your firearm. Bring one box of ammo (50 cartridges) for live fire.

NOTE: NO AMMUNITION IN THE CLASSROOM. Leave it in your car.

RENTAL: Don't own a firearm, hearing or eye protection? We can rent you ours. Just let us know when scheduling training. If you have your own hearing and eye protection, bring them.

EQUIPMENT LIST: Quality firearm that you are versed in its operation with at least 2 magazines & magazine pouches, knee pads, elbow pads, shooter’s mat (or yoga mat), appropriate clothing and shoes for training, brimmed hat, flashlight, hydration system, wrap around eye protection, and quality ear protection. You must be able to clearly hear range commands.
